Solaris 8 on Ultra 1 143Mhz see 3.11 OBP instead of 3.25OBP? 1

Hi Folks:

Ultra 1 143Mhz upgrade to Solaris 8 but, I still see 3.11 OBP. How do I move up to 3.25 OBP on this systems? Is it a pkgadd from of my cdrom or do I have to download a different patch?

Isn't this firmware automatic when you perform a software upgrade?

no I do not believe it is a package tht can be added/installed. You have to "flash" the opb from a install cd.

You need to go to

http://sunsolve.sun.com

to get the latest version of the Flash PROM firmware for your Ultra1 (do a search on flash prom upgrade and you will get a list of all available patches. The README is very good and understandable). This patch is not dependent on the OS version (i.e. after an upgrade of the OS the firmware is still the same version).
