Hi,
I am trying to install Solaris 8 on an intel based system. At the beginning of the install i get an error saying "Solaris cannot find a disk that meets the requirements to install on". I get this right after the option where you choose what language you want.

It is not recognizing my hard drive at all. Earlier in the install when it asks me to pick a device to bott the kernel it shows my ibm hard drive just fine. But it refuses to install it and when i look at the recognized devices the hard drive is not listed anywhere.

Can anyone help me out here? Id appreciate it.

One thing worth having a quick look at when installing
Solaris on Intel is whether the CDROM and HD are
sharing the same IDE bus. I had this problem when trying
to boot the kernel, even though I chose CD (initially),
there was obvious contention on the bus - to solve it
on this occasion, I moved the CDROM to use its own IDE
bus and the problem was solved.
Good luck
