I am attempting to implement DMI on all our SUN Server (Large Storage Company). When I try to start the snmpXdmid daemon it cannot register with the snmpdm daemon. When I turn on debugging I get:
Attempting connection to local agent.

Unable to connect to snmpdx
The dmispd daemon, which snmpXdmid also must register with, gives the following when I start snmpXdmid:
read config file /etc/dmi/conf/dmispd.conf DBDIR = /var/dmi/db M/var/dmi/mif Init ComponentId :
the row of table 2 of comp 1 exists!
the row of table 3 of comp 1 exists!
the row of table 2 of comp 1 exists!
the row of table 3 of comp 1 exists!
The log file for snmpdx (which is a subagent of snmpdm) does not show any activity when I start snmpXdmid.
Has anyone seen and fixed this before? Is there a patch I need?
