Hello!

well, I have a machine running Solaris 2.6 and I must change its ip address and default router. Anyone could help me? Thanks a lot!

Do a search on this board for more info, but in essence:

To change the default router, put the correct IP address for the router in the file /etc/defaultrouter

To change the IP address, change the machines IP address in /etc/hosts and reboot.

Thats the quick way (and the way I did it) but it depends on how your machine is configured.

Another way is to look into the command sys-unconfig

Greg.

What did you do? What doesn't work?

If your machine is called the_gimp, the entry in your hosts file should read
Code:
[URL unfurl="true"]www.xxx.yyy.zzz[/URL] the_gimp loghost
