Solaris 2.6 and hardware compatability

I have a new Solaris220R, but through a purchasing snafu, it was not shipped with the OS media kit. I have an older 2.6 Server Version Media kit, dated 5/98, Sparc Platform Edition.
Will this older revision still work with this new Architecture?
