I'm planning to install Solaris 2.5 on a IBM Netfinity 3000 Server with two 9.2Gb disks. Can anyone tell me if I can, and howto, configure these disks to operate as RAID 0, 4 or 5?<br>
Thanks a lot

dear friend,
what kind of installation is it to be installed.
if intel version the os will not detect more than 8 g.b. of the diosk space and if possible check out for disk geometry adjustments in with the sun solve forum or the UGU.com for this related solution and do let me know.
the other way if u want to use 4 g.b. of the disk space for
installation & slicing order u can use the rest of the disk/s space by using format utility & then assign the slice for /export or /opt or /usr according to ur convenience.

with regards
makir

dear friend,
if u can install sun's products like adminsuite
and disk suite then that will be enough for ur requirement.

for further guidence contact me at madhukiran.cvs@polaris.co.in.
are there any application constraints that u shoul use 2.5 only, if not u can solaris 2.6 or release 7.

that should be smoother.
incase of difficulties do mail me.

with regards

makir
