In setting up a syslog server with Solaris 10 and using ZFS for the entire disk, is there any reason to create zones? From what I have read I should still be able to take snapshots of the one Global zone, restrict CPU usage, restrict disk usage etc withing the Global default zone.
The installation gives you a choice to put var in a separate pool, but /usr/, export, bin etc all go in the same pool.
I just can't see the benefit of creating another zone for syslog-ng. Am I missing something?
Thanks
