Hello All,

When I ran banner command on my Solaris 10 box I get the following output:

# banner
Usage: banner "up to 10 char arg string" . . .

Has anyone seen this before? If so, how do you fix it? I tried to google for a solution to no avail. Please help.

Thank you,

ponetguy2

That is normal behaviour for the banner command. Maybe you are thinking of the PROM command, which you need to enter at the {ok} prompt?

Annihilannic.

Hello Anihilannic,

Thank you for the reply. Maybe banner command was customized at where I work. I was getting my MAC address PROM version and etc. from running this shell command.

Regards,

No, banner is pretty standard. Try "[tt]man banner[/tt]" for more information.

Anni is correct, you are thinking of the banner command typed at the {ok} prompt. It's an OBP command you are thinking of.

Yep. You guys are correct. Thank you.
