They used to have a training kit called the "Hicom 150E Expert Pack" that provides all the training materials and the Assistant E disk. I am not sure if it is still around or around in a newer incarnation, but that is how I got into it. From that point I have been able to keep up to date by quick copying CD's while the tech is off in the bathroom and the like, and the latest version I sweet talked them out of when I purchased a software upgrade. The training kit was like $300 - $400 if I recall, but the documentation is rather useful.
The trick is that they want you trained in order to have it - and taking the training class or buying a kit if available is the only way to get it other than a cooperative tech. Once you get it though they are pretty stupid with the password - you just go into help under login and there it is....
