Software warning on screen

Had this message on test machine this morning

Warning: HTFS Invalid link count (-1) in inode 43123 on HTFS dev hd (1/42);
Unmount file system and run fsck.

system is using SCO Unix 5.0

Question is how do I run FSCK

I am in single mode user

the following statement is on the screen
entering system maintenance mode
Logname could not find
entry in /etc/utmp
terminal type is ainsi
-:-0:bad options
#

Your root filesystem seems damaged.
I'd try this when in single user mode:
fsck -y /dev/root

Had got the same answer from a colleague of mine yesterday bang on the button system is back up and working appreciate your answer.
