Software Version Agent

Hi,
I am running Insight Manager 7 SP2.3
I can see all green boxes for the Hardware State.

However for the Software Version Status they are all blue apart from 2 servers.

The servers with green software status squares are on the subnet as the Insight Manager server.

The rest of the servers are on a seperate network seperated by a router---leased line---router.

My question is, i can view all the hardware status perfectly fine for all servers but not there software status. Do particular ports need to be open for Insight Manager to communicate with the software version status of each server?

There are four things that affect Insight Manager...
- SNMP blocked, and be aware security vulnerabilities
- Agents loaded on target devices will dictate what is reported.
- Have to have the hardware to to monitor it. Insight Manager is better at monitoring servers than desktops.
- Version of Insight Manager

I do not run ver 7.x, but I have run 3.x to 5.x among other monitoring tools.

I would suggest that you check what agents are running on the target devices to see if they are setup for software reporting.
