I got my server to installed and setup with SUS. It is working great and everything EXCEPT...

I can't change the path for the CLIENT to get its updates. I have read the white paper for Microsoft Software Update Services, but the path they recommend for doing so is not valid in the group policy.

This Group Policy setting (located in Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update)

Window Update is not available under Windows Components.

Any clues?

Thank you,
Richard

Richard,

You need to add the Windows Update template. Goto the group policy setting: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\ and right click Administrative Templates. Then select Add\Remove Templates and then select WUAU. This should add what you need.

Exactly, once the template is in place you should be in business. Only thing I'm having a problem with is the policy doesn't seem to be taking effect.
