Software to export/track/list permissions/settings on shares or in AD?

Does anyone know of any software that could keep track of set permissions and shares on a given server? Right now I try to log any changes I make permissions wise.. in a document.. where I have all shares listed and their settings.. It would be nice if there was software which could just export these values to a file...
