I have a 160GB hard drive under XP Home.
I want to create partitions, but the customer reviews of Partition Magic and Partition Commander - the two most common packages - say they have a lot of problems. Is there something else out there that is dependable?

I have been using Partition Magic for a number of years now, and to say that this program has problems suggests to me that these people do not know how to use it, nor do they understand partitioning and the mechanics behind it. In other words, these people might also complain that FDisk does not work.
Partition Magic is a great program, and its usefulness and stability are not to be put in question as far as I am concerned.
I have used PM on a number of PCs and laptops, even barebones, without any issues. SCSI or IDE, or even SATA, it takes in stride and chops up as requested.
Its great. Go for it, but be sure to know what you are doing.

Pascal.
