Software requirements to run a T7316e with a KIM Unit

Just a quick question to anyone...
I have a client that had a M7324 set fail. It had a CAP unit attached to it. I replaced it with a T7316e and a KIM unit but the KIM unit doesn't light up. The KSU currently has MICS 3.0 software; is that a problem?
