software reporting problem 1

When running the software inventory client agent on a weekly schedule, will the data from the previous scan over-write the previous data, or append it?
Having problems with the reports showing machines listed that are either no longer on the domain, or the machines in question were wiped and reinstalled w/out said software.

If the results are appended, is there a quick and easy way to purge all the current information and re-run the agent to get "fresh" data?
Your help will be greatly appreciated. -Mike
 
I think you should be looking at your SMS Maintenance Tasks. It seems to me they are either not enabled or not setup correctly.

thanks for the tip. I chkec the site maintenance tasks. It was set to run automatically on saturday midnite. shows anything older than 90 days.
I re-ran it and changed the dates to 10days. Re-ran the client agent and the reports are still showing mystery machines we know arent on the network anymore.

But thanks for stearing me in the right direction.

Not sure what else to do now.
 
The Maintenance task should have deleted the old information. Do you know if the Management Point is working correctly? Look at this for more information on how to test if the Management Point is working: thread22-1037864
