Imagine the scene if you will!

A small National based Software Manufacturer and Consultancy specialising in a particular type of application are BPs with a very large Global Software Manufacturer which produces an Application that is this particular type of App.

The small company has been supporting this product for over 10 years and has a very large DB full of clients.

Imagine the third party, an extemly large Global Corp. that only has interest in purse springs is finally talked around to upgrading to the latest version of the product after 3 1/2 years of hard work selling and supporting them by the small company.

This is worth 10s of thousands to the small comp.

As part of any purchase the small company obviously informs the Global manufacturer of the Product to purchase the software.

Imagine the anger when it emerges that Global Third party suddenly recieves a fax from the Global Software manufacturer offering their product at a discounted rate to that of the smaller company!

wonder what happens next!

You've got a point!

But, this Global Manufacturer has LOTs of BPs/Resellers around the world.

And the proviso for their BP scheme (which is extremely expensive) is that they manufacture and supply only as a general rule (but have been known to sell themselves occasionally)!

BPs sell and support/configue/consult 95% of the time.

Imagine the reaction when other BPs find out about this poach
