Hi,

I've recently been working on a software audit and license check for our company. The main questions I have are what records should I have on file to legally cover us (UK based) should we ever be audited externally. The records to date were very disorganised and I have so far been able to file what I have found.

We mainly seem to have copied of the software licence agreements - sometimes with additional registration information or in the case of MS products, License Packs.

Does anyone have a link to information on what records we must keep and any advice on the best ways to organise it all.

Thanks,

Steve Gordon

you could contact FAST. They are very helpful.

Equally, if you have licences or failing that, a purchase order or invoice to the software co, you should be ok.

Depends how bad you are - one or two POs and everything else is ok and you should be safe. Just a few bits of paper and nothing else and you could be crawled all over.
