Software for Serial Port reroute to NIC?

I have some old software that communicates over Serial Port or through a modem. Is there anything I can do to route the data being sent to the com port to a specific IP address on our intranet, and then have that comp route that data to its com port? Any software out there?

Take a look at

http://www.digi.com

and look at their serial port products. The have Realport Ethereal TS and One Port TS products that act line a real serial port but actually talk over a TCP link. If they have something that would fit your needs then please post your results for the rest of us to read.
