I have a hp wand and it worked fine on my old 386 under dos. I recently bought a computer with windows me installed and I cannot get the wand to work on the new computer. The disk that came with the wand only have dos drivers on them. Is there an internet site that I can download the windows drivers so that the wand will work correctly or do I need to buy a wedge and connect it to the keyboard. The wand has a 9 pin serial plug and plugs direcly into the back of the computer so I would assume that it is just a software problem.

Any help that you could give would be appreciated.

Is the wand connected to the serial port or the keyboard? DougP, MCP

it is connected to the 9 pin serial port

There is a program runing in DOS that is reading the com port and doing somethign with the data.
If you had a Keyboard wedge type wand or scanner you would not need a program.

This company makes one for Windows.

I would say if you want to spend the money on the software you would be off to get another wand or scanner that is keyboard wedge type. NO programs or anything
Work's in DOS Winodws and software
A Welch Allyn CCD scanner is far better than a wand.
for $249.00 get one from me.
