Software/Firmware for 7940's and 7960's

I'm looking to setup an Asterisk and use Cisco skinny 7940's and 7960's. Is there there any software or firmware that I need to load on the phones via the AUX port or do the phones obtain this through the server once it is active?

I plan using the Trixbox CE.
