software downgrade

I have a cx controller that has mcd 5.0 Sp2Pr2, I am trying to install mcd4 so i can convert a 3300 rel 7 database to sds then upgrade that database to mcd 6. I did a manual install of mcd 4 but the system still shows as mcd5...any ideas?

If you installed an MCD 4.x software it shouldn't be displaying MCD 5.x. (Where are you seeing the MCD 5 displayed) Click on About in the upper right side of the screen and let me know what the active release is and if it displays the inactive release what that is.

You format the hard drive with fixpartition as part of the manual install?
