Morning,

Does anyone know of a linux application that will deploy applications across the network to windows and linux clients, in a way similar to ZEN Works? I have a rather shoestring budget of no money available so would prefer this to be a GNU licensed application. But if there are good applications that will do this with some outlay i may be able to get it authorised so please do suggest these as well!

Any help you can ofer would be appreciated!

Thanks

Glen

I have not yet come across anything that's free (especially for Windows)
Linux/Unix is pretty easy with a few scripts etc.
Check the following link for a few commercial product.

At work we use Tivoli (pricey!)

you can produce something of your own with some "not that difficult to write" scripts, the problem is to install and execute something into Windows systems .... you should install on those machines at least an FTP server and to enable the execution of RSH.
You will find a beautiful RSH daemon for Windows wtitten by a guy named something like "Marghescu" or "Margescu

Cheers for the replies, I have aken a look at various scripts login etc. But was rather complicated to implement and troubleshoot i have used Zen and Radia in the past, but like you say they are pricey. Looks like ill be blowing the dust of my Programming books and starting on one myself.

If anyone else has any more ideas please feel free to jot it down.

Cheers

Glen
