I have run the latest patche on almost all of my PO's and they have done fine with it, however, I have two sites where the SSD refuses to be patched (errors out). What I want to know is if the POA is the only thing running on that Postoffice is it necessary to rebuild the SSD from scratch or can I just create a new SSD from one of the exisisting SSD's(patched)and run the poa from there?

The poa should run from another directory. Not from the SDD. The sdd is a software store not tio be used as a live area for agents etc. Lee Smith

I realize that... I guess I didn't word it correctly. When you run the Sp3a patch it only updates the Sys:system for the components that you choose to upgrade. For example: If you want to upgrade just the agents you can skip the rest. Therefore, if I have a patched SSD on another server, using System operations I can create an SSD on another server. My question is... is that acceptable... will it work to create a patched SSD on from another site and then update the poa agent from that directory... and by doing so get around the problems with the current SSD on that server.

Yeh that will work. You could also copy the patched, working SDD to the not happy SDD.

Be aware doing that will change the bump level on the SDD and workstations will get the update prompt. That is if you set force update check.

Running the agent from another sdd is ok but you will have to make sure that the sdd the postoffice is assigned to is the updated one. The POA can do checks on views etc so you could get some grief later if not immediately. Lee Smith
