Software advertise to new machines only

We are just beginning to utilize SMS and have Compaq agents installed on all our systems here. I want to advertise the agents to all new machines that come on our network but don't want it to be advertised to all the machines that already have it installed. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Create a collection based on a query.
Use the query to only show you machines who have not installed the agents.
