Hi All.

Quick question here.

I have to set up softphones for a customer. I created a sip extension for a user, and have softphone licenses on the system. However, I cannot select the softphone checkbox on the user to enable softphone.

I can select remote user. Is that what I am to use, or is something wrong with the licensing I got?

The sip registrar is NOT on right now, and I have to do an after hours reboot. Is this why I can't select it. The customer has communicator and not equinox even though they are R11.0.4.

Regards

The Enable Softphone tickbox is for the old Video Softphone.
For Communicator or IX Workplace you enable Enable Communicator.

Also you don't need to create a SIP extension for Communicator or IX Workplace.

Hi Janni

I don't see that as an option on my System -> Users -> User Tab.
Is it somewhere else?

You must enable the SIP registrar before you configure users for Avaya Communicator

From the Profile list, select Office Worker or Power User

Select Enable Avaya Communicator

Hi Guys.

Sorry for taking so long to get back.
It's been nuts with everyone and covid-19 changes.

Anyway, I finally fixed the customer IT guy's issue, and then went to load communicator (he did it on his computer as they are vpn'ing the customer and I don't have access in that manner).

So, I have softphone licenses for the customer installed, and created a sip user (with SIP registrar enabled on the LAN port they are using).

When he goes to log in, the customer advises he gets a timeout message.

Doing some digging I read of a Communicator lite (???), but when I look at the licenses I have, with the softphone, I should be using equinox.

I don't have any power user, office worker, or tele-worker licenses.

Any hints as to what I should do? I'm thinking of getting equinox to them, but don't want to be messing up more than I have to.

Regards
