Hello,
i´ve got a problem with my softphone over VPN. I´m not able to answer calls. The softphone rings twice and then gets busy. The answer incomming call button doesn´t work. has anyone seen this?
Thanks in advance

You need to ensure that the ports required for softphone to function correctly are not being blocked by firewalls on your PC or VPN box/Company side, also do you have QOS set anywhere?

ACS - IP Office Implement

In PM Preferences tick confirm voip ip address and enable fast start under the audio codec tab.

Fast start will return ringing to the caller, confirm ip address will make the answer button work.

Also make sure Off Hook station is enabled on the user.

When Phonemanger opens now it will ask you which IP address to use and not use default which is where your problem is!

this is definitely a firewall problem.
the call is ringing because H323 signaling is done on fixed TCP ports 1719 and 1720.
voice circulate on dynamically assigned UDP ports, so most probably the firewall is blocking these.
So u basically what you need to do is to config your firewall from both ends

He stated they are using a vpn, that would mean that all ports should be open through the tunnel. Make sure windows firewall is not interferring and maybe run the avayaFW.bat just to be safe.

I've seen VPN tunnel where they have put firewalls in so don't always trust that SuperJenks.
