Softphone option on Windows 8

Morning Tech Tips,

We're in the midst of installing an IP Office with IP Softphones (no desk phones) and we didn't realize one of the employees has Windows 8. Obviously the softphone did not work for us because of Win 8 so I've left him with a temp desk phone.

What are my options here, can I use a different type of softphone or should I just go with a desk phone or get him to downgrade.

Interesting, well I'll tell you a bit about the problems we're having and maybe you can help us fix them.

Everything works right now except the dialing... we have a line pool with the 5 lines and 9 is the line code. When we start dialing it initiates the call as soon as we press the 9. now we can keep dialing and sometimes the call goes through once we finish dialing, but often the call drops as soon as it is dialed.

any ideas?
 
Oh, the IP Softphone is v3.2.3.48 (67009)... Am I using the wrong version perhaps?
 
You need the one from the admin disc. R9

do you know the version of the one that comes on the r9 admin disc?
 
In ADMIN9_0_3_0_941 and in ADMIN9_0_3_0_949 you will find IPOffice_Softphone_Win32_3.2.3.49_68975

Do not forget that the softphone is a sip phone and requires enblock dialing.
