softphone 2050 on vpn with remote desktop

Having a problem with with a softphone 2050 over a vpn with remote desktop. It will run the software fine, but I can not get any response from the headset and remote. Any suggestions? Has anyone else ran into this problem.

Where is the softphone running, on the remote desktop or the end user machine that has the headset plugged into it?

Remote Desktop does not map USB ports between the server and the local machine. You need to run the softphone on the machine that has the headset.

The remote desktop was running on a laptop. I understand what your saying though. That was my thought, but just wanted someone to verify. Any ideas on a work around possibly?

Have the Laptop VPN in and then use the Softphone on that laptop.

Should work fine...
