softmodem under Linux RH 6.1

I have a soft modem (Rockwell 56KFlex) & R.H. 6.1 and i want to make that modem WORK under Linux...so if u know how or have idea mail me...BUT PLEASE don't send me URL like or stuff like that...i've been there and threre is noyhing for me .,..of course I will be generause if u send me complete manual!!!!!!!<br>

Softmodem? If you mean a WinModem (sometimes also called, I think, HFC modems) then it won't work under Linux. These modems work by using a driver in Windows 95 that uses the CPU to do all of the data modulation/'demodulation. AFAIK, at this point in time there is nothing similar for Linux.<br>

You'll need to go out and buy a new modem I'm afraid.
