SoftConsole limitations on ip office 5.0

Are their any SoftConsole limitations on ip office 5.0? Currently the customer has 4-sonftconsole user licenses and wants to add 5 more.

Is there any limitation in earlier versions of firmware or has it always been 4 SoftConsole Users only?

Is the Phone Manager similar to Soft Console but without the dss/blf ability?

Will Phone Manager work on Win 7?

No, you cannot add more then 4 Softoconsole licenses.

As far as I know it was alsways 4.

Phonemanager has BLF functionality. Phonemanager lite only until 15 users ( But I know a trick how to add more )

Phone manager will work on W7. At least it does on my laptop.

You can actually except for releases 6.0 and 6.1
4 is just a commercial limit.
We have customers with 12 softconsoles licenced.
It will give a warning but that is it.

Indeed, it's the exact same interface and functioning as Phone Manager and that had no limitations, 4 is just a dumb limit that was set for commercial reasons

Thats odd.

You would say that if it is a commercial limit, Avaya wont give you more then 4 licenses since the keep records of the licenses given.

Licences are generated automatically on demand by a server, there is no human interaction or oversight

If it is a commercial issue, it would be silly to sell more the 4 licenses then,

It's to keep the thing going that it's "SME", same as the 384 extn limit, you can register far more IP phones than that, it's an arbitrary limit based on Dig/analogue extns capacity
