Softconsole Issues

Wonder if anyone has run into this...
In softconsole, you can edit a users forwarding, twinning, dnd, etc. This normally works just dandy.
However today during a demo I noticed that you could...well...not do that. Could not do it to a single user. If you hit properties for that user, it was all greyed out.

System was running R9 with the latest SC (4.2.33). Tried it on mine (r9 as well), and low and behold, same problem. Tried a step down, and it became "better", but not all the way; only certain extensions had the issue, not all of them. Weird huh?

Any rhyme or reason why that might happen?

Can you try to play with the tftp timeout on the users my documents?

Go to My documents -> Avaya -> IP400 -> Softconsole -> Profiles -> settings.
Change the tftptimeout=5 to 30 seconds
This will gove Softconsole 30 seconds to pull all the info by tftp instead of 5 seconds.

This setting is there because of an issue i had with a customer where the OK button was grayed out.
When i tried the config (big one but with in the limits) on a 412 then this happens but on an IP500v2 it did not.
The 412 was not quick enough with sending the info by tftp and it timed out.

Dosen't seem to make a difference. Tried various increments to no avail. It just will not let me see properties of some users, and also, now it won't pull *new* users. The heck is that about?? Softconsole seems to be a dying application. I wish they had a "reception" version of one-x.

Log unto security settings and make sure to check out Enabling User Setting Changes in Knowledgebase manual under softconsole installation. I had this problem last week, it fixed it.

That is good info! Sadly, it does not resolve the issue. Softconsole is just a garbage legacy app and needs to be put out to pasture.
