Softconsole: Any way to view extension with holding calls or differentiate ring vs on call?

Hi all,

Three softconsole BLF questions. We've just started using Softconsole on R8 and have noticed two issues:

1. There does not appear to be any way of seeing that an extension has calls on hold (even though the extensions are setup with Busy on Held). If there's no way to do this within SoftConsole, if I remove the extra call appearances on the extensions so they only have one (or one and one reserved for outbound), would that then cause the extensions to show lit?

2. When a call is ringing to an extension, it displays the extension in the BLF group as red, same as an extension actually on a call. Is there any way to have SoftConsole only display red if the extension is actually on a call?

3. Across a SCN, it appears that the operator cannot change extension settings (like putting an extension on DND). Is that by design, or do I have a configuration problem?

Thanks!

1 I don't understand the question
2 No ringing or on a call is busy, busy = red
3 It is by design and will never be available.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

#2 You can change the colors. Look in preference - appearance - call status.

Thanks all. Intrigrant, for question number 1, I'll try to clarify.

When an extension is talking to a caller, the appearance in BLF is "busy" (red). However, if that extension puts the caller on hold at their extension, the extension now becomes grey -- not busy. For the hunt groups, however, there's a setting called "Busy on held" which keeps the extension out of the pool of available extension on a queued call, however to the operator, it appears that these extensions are available.

I assume there's no way to change this in softconsole, however if I remove line appearances, will that have the same desired affect as there will be no additional lines to take an incoming call and then the operator will see them as busy?

rdoubrava: I think the colors you're referring to there are for the operator's inbound calls and don't affect the BLF colors. I was hoping for a different color if the call was presenting vs. answered by the extension.

In respect to question 1, no you can't see that despite the phone will give busy when dilled the status LED will show it as free no matter if the user have appearance keys or not.
Softconsole has been designed when using digital phones without appearance keys and it works the same in the new One-X portal software.
