Soft-phone registration to CM 6.3 Request

Hello all

I want to know some thing
I have Lab consist from G430 and CM 6.3 and IP Soft phones
when Gateway is up and running the soft phone register to CM normally
but when i try to shut it down , be not able to register Soft phones to CM
some thing i miss understand this issue

Why I need Gateway in Registration ??
do soft Phones or IP phones need any thing from MG ..DSP Resources and Tone Generation like in G650 Case ??
its register with CM PE
and the process is fully IP , meaning that PC's will handle all tasks of Digitizing and generating Packets in PC environment and will pass through my LAN Network

Yes the phones need to see(or rather the server CM) available dsp recourses to register.
