Remote user with PC soft phone can make calls to other extensions and PSTN no problem. User can not answer calls. The call presents itself in the users call screen but clicking on the call or on the "answer" button will not work.
The caller does not hear any rings while the call is presented to the soft phone user.

VPN is up and passing traffic. I can pink back and forth, can connect to exchange server and network shares, local database application, etc.

V 3.2(59)
PM 3.2(35)

For the ringing try on the following tab:
view\preferences\usb settings\ring on multimedia and usb.

If you've got it working you'll be able to reproduce a bug that I reported to my distributor:
Answer a call, try to transfer it to another extension.
This extension doesn't pickup of doesn't want the call so you have to press 'end' to end the call and go back to the original user.
You'll end up with a connection with no audio path both ways.
It has to be a bug, if you only downgrade the IPO to 3.2.55 or 3.2.57 it is resolved. Trial versions 3.2.601101 or 3.2.601103 won't solve this.

Succes.

Ney ney ney.

In PM Preferences tick confirm voip ip address and enable fast start under the audio codec tab.

Fast start will return ringing to the caller, confirm ip address will make the answer thing work.

You have two lan connections and PM is trying to use the wrong one!

sorry for the delay in responding.

Pure gold: the confirm voip and enabled fast start fixed the issue with rings and answer.

New issue now. The user can make and receive external calls no problem. This includes called transfered to her. Calls to and from internal extensions return no audio on either side.

What typ of internal extensions?
When u use ipphone, make sure their on G711 direct media path is on.
And ofr the softphone set the codec on G711.

Bas not always. It depends on the network. I find in most cases you have to turn it off when you have remote IP phones or softphones. or in some multisite set ups.

I never had problems with it, we always use QOS a DATA and a VOICE VLAN with HP, 3Com and Cisco switches. We use 56xxSW and first connect the phones and behind the phones the PC's.
