Hi,

I have a customer who has all MACs in their office. Does Nortel or some 3rd party make a soft phone that will work between the BCM and MACs? He wants to upgrade his 15 year old phone system but he wants all softphones.

Thanks,

Steve

Only supported softphone on a Nortel system is the i2050, which only runs on PC's.

Thanks. That's what I figured. I talked to their MAC guru today and he said that windows OS could be installed on the MAC and Windows could run within a window. Of course then they would have to buy 60 copies of Windows OS and that would defeat the purpose of cheaper softphone.

Thanks for the input.

I'd be curious to know if that would work - I've always wondered how Windows would work with USB devices (like a USB headset). I had a customer mention that they would try it, but they haven't as of yet.

But yes, spending a couple hundred bucks on each copy of a Windows OS blows your cost savings away in a real hurry.
