So my problem is as folloes: I'm cutting out a picture lets say with the lasoo tool, and the feather is at 30px, I then paste it to another document and it is feathery but around and around you can see the square box from where it was cut out, now I could take the eraser tool and delete it, but how do I make that whenever I cut out it shouldn't be this problem.

Thanx in advance

Are you pasting this into another Photoshop document or into a different application which does not support transparency.
To place the feathered selection into another Photoshop document, just drag the selection ( with the Move tool ) into the new doc to create a new layer which will show as feathered against the background.

Thanx for answering. Yes! I am pasting it in another photoshop document, and still, it's transparent but you can see a very light square box around the cutout selection.

Are you selecting the area from the outside edges towards the centre. In this case it is cropping the edges of the image. Try cropping the source image well beyond the existing visible area. Then do your selection so that the edge pixels fall within the border area. Hope this is making sense.

Hi Mechel

Do your cutout then click the 'Quick Mask' button - this will show you what you have done. My guess is that 30 pixel feather is so much that it has 'crashed' into the edge of the picture box. In other the feather has expanded outwards too much. Try feathering less or cropping tighter into your image. To make things quicker when experimenting... once you have done your cutout with the lasoo save the selection BEFORE you have feathered it. You can then reload the selection very quickly and try another feather value without having to cutout again

Cheers
