Hello,
I get this error "socket read failed" when trying to save the templates in the host client (an AIX 5.3) through the backup, archive anmd restore wizard and in order to create one for the Hot oracle database backup.

Master server (W2K SP4) resolves the client correctly, I can even go into host properties and backups of the client (cold backup) every night work fine but cannot read socket when trying to save the template.

Anyone got an idea where would it be the problem?

Thanks in advanced!

Now the problem is solved.
When you use a network interface to backup (we have already 3 networks, one for users, one for servers and one for backup purposes) you need to add a route at the host client from the master server to the right backup gateway of the backup network so the IP be the same in the host file of the master or media server.
Now we can create templates correctly as the socket uses the right network interface.

Best regards,
