socket open fails on wireless handset

I have posted the same question before but didn't really get any answers. so I'm trying my luck again..

i have a wireless phone that displays skt open failed. On the same network/AP I have 3 other phones that work just fine. what on earth could the problem be?

I was thinking maybe a firmware issue on the handset? is it possible to manually donwload the firmware?

i must add that this is a two subnet site. the handset in question works on the one subnet but not the other...

any ideas?

running on a 3300 release 7.1.3.4_2

Do you have QoS unit? It wants 2X Ip addresses to serve each phone.

I think I found the problem. the ip addresses i allocated for alias had one IP that was in use. I'm assuming the handset in question was always using that specific IP hence it was the only one giving problems.

I changed the pool of addresses and the handset started working....
