Hi all,

Has anyone experienced any problem with upgrading an so8 module to release 7 from 6.1?

SO modules are not supported any more.

the preferred method is BRI trunks with SO Bus adaptors.

It is still supported although you cannot buy them anymore.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Im sure our SO module stopped.... perhaps that was an alchemy one - all i remember is, it didnt work on rel 7

The 7.0Q2 matrix shows it as supported.
Perhaps it doesn't but i did not search very well.
And to be honest i would not be surprised if it is not supported anymore bu they forgot to mention it in the tech bully :)

The Matrix states that it is supported however im finding that hard to believe now! Thanks for your input.

The one we use for remote dialup to IPOs still works fine on V7

APDS - Unified Communications
ACS - IP Telephony
ACA - IP Telephony

There is a Bin file for it so it should be ok
how exactly is your upgrade failing?

Mundus vult decipi decipiatur ergo.

It is not syncing with the IPO, flashing Green lights!

The upgrade went through fine but the module never came back in play.

I have seen flashing lights on an SO module before & it turned out to be a red herring, the box was still working.
what happens when you connect an ISDN device to one of the ports?

Mundus vult decipi decipiatur ergo.

Nothing, i use it for ISDN dial in..... It does not even register on SSA! Bizarre................

hahaha........unfortunately not, especially after getting Scrutinised last time!!! :)

as an alternative why not use the IPO as a router & configure services to connect to the remote systems?
(I do here & no HSM you cant get at MY IPO from the outside world)
