So I ordered a used 9670g and not a 9641g. Can I change the firmware?

So I ordered a 9670g with sidecar not realizing it won't work on ip office. The price was fair since I can move the sidecar to other ip phones. But, I thought it would be nice to see if I could change the firmware out to say 9641g since they look the same. Though looks does not say software lock of different internal board.

Never done it, never tried, but I'm putting my money on "No".

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Have you tried it? Some phones will work in a very basic way even if they are not supported.
