Hello,

I am very much a newbie to this so I appreciate any response.

My question is regarding recurring alarms where the same alarm scenario appears over and over again, sending traps to a management host. The problem is that the management host gets flooded with the (same) alarm.

Is this up to the management host software to handle? Is there any way to implement a counter for these alarms, so that it is displayed as one and the same alarm, but each reoccuring event will have an increased counter or similar?

Would this also be up to the managemnet software to handle, if not, how is it implemented in SNMP?

Best Regards,
Daniel
