Hello!

i've a problem monitoring ISDM status with snmp protocol, on a cisco router.
With the IsdnLapdOperStatus OID i can detect if the isdn connection is actrive (layer2 active) or in standby (layer 1 acrive). When i remove the link (unstick the cable) the value of OID remain 2 (l1Active).
It appens on one router,. In another router, where i install a ISDN card but i never plug-in a isdn cable, the value of the prevoious OID is 1 (inactive), as i aspect.

I excuse for my hgorriblre english :)
Have you sam ideas? i must use another OID? I try to see the 1.3.6.1.4.9.9.26 (cisco-isdn) but router don't know this oid.

Thank you in advance

alex

Alex,

are you sure the status is actually changing on the router? If this is Euro-ISDN is can be very hard to detect the difference between active and deactivated since the line puts the connection in a sleep mode which saves power but in some sense is active since startup is near instantaneous.

This might be handled differently in different software revs, but I am geussing (I am ISDNman not CIscoman)

good luck

Thank's ISDNman :)

So, the OID 've used is the right one?
If i understand your answer, i 've used the right one, and there isn't a better OID to use.

It's correct?
