Can anyone who is using SNMP to monitoring their IP Office share a few useful OIDs?

Thanks.

Note: if you are going to go to expense of buying a SNMP server for performing this solely 3.2 will have the ability to email the SNMP traps in a intelligible format. Hence no need for the SNMP server expense.

If you have other devices on the network you wish to monitor SNMP Server based is the go !

just my 2 cents

The Target Release date for 3.2 is July 24th 06.
See below detailed information of the SNMP support for 3.2

See extract from the 3.2 Manager Help file. Note: 3.2 will still support standard SNMP Traps as well as SMTP.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) allows SNMP clients and servers to exchange information. SNMP clients are built into devices such as network routers, server PC's, etc. SNMP servers are typically PC application which receive and/or request SNMP information.

The IP Office SNMP client allows the IP Office system to respond to SNMP polling and to send alarm information to SNMP servers. In order for an SNMP server application to interact with an IP Office, the IP Office MIB files, provided on the IP Office Admin CD, must be compiled into the SNMP server's applications database. For full details refer to the IP Office Installation Manual.

The IP Office can also send alarms to an SMTP email server. This allows users to receive alarms without needing to configure an SNMP server. Using SMTP requires details of a valid SMTP email account user name and password and server address.

-- This is configured via Manager

Alarm traps can be created specifying which alarms to include and where to send the alarms. Up to 2 traps can be configured for the sending of alarms to an SNMP server. Up to 3 traps can be configured for the sending of alarms to SMTP email.

I just hope 3.2 is still a free one, and they don't start charging at this release

3.2 is a free upgrade, the only new license key is for mobile twinning.

We will have to wait and see what the future brings, but paying for upgrades is on AVAYA's roadmap. !

What is mobile twinning? Can it be used with loop-start trunks?

My understanding is Mobile Twinning can be used with Loop Start lines, I have not tested yet only with ISDN and found some big issues so far due to be fixed next FT 3.2 !

Mobile Twinning is the ability to Twin your Desk Phone to a Mobile, When a call is presented it will ring both your Desk and Mobile, answer on you mobile and your desk phone stops ringing. Nice
