Hi all,

Does anybody know of a way to tell if the SNMP alarm subsystem is still alive? Is there some kind of heartbeat alarm that I can receive by SNMP at intervals? I want something more specific than up/down ping monitoring. I was thinking of using the DTC001 alarm. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Cheers,

I see there is a TIM000 alarm that occurs every hour on the hour. I am planning to use this as an SNMP heartbeat.
Can anybody tell me whether this alarm is only on recent rls versions or throughout >25.40

Cheers,

The TIMxxx (TimeStamp) message has been around forever, and does indeed generate an SNMP trap.

The xxx is the SID (system ID number) that you can set in either LD 2, or LD 17
