SNMP broadcasts

I have been monitoring my network for ICMP broadcasts; I have several PCs that send a SNMP request to printers on our network on different subnets. I have also seen a PC that is doing nothing and sent several SNMP request to all network printer ports installed on the machine.

I get an ICMP destination and port 161 unreachable.

What is the cause of this? Does windows XP automatically send SNMP broadcast top printers?

Also SNMP is disabled on the printers
