Hi, Does any of you has experience with SNMP and CLS 8.9?
I have big NICE systems with 16 logger, 2 storage, and 2 CLS, we monitor all the loggers and storage via SNMP, but for the CLS, NICE doesn't provide SNMP Agent. The customer want to monitor everythings via SNMP...if you have tips how to do it...that will help. The MIB file already contain all the CLS error...Thank you

We are just in the middle of testing this in our offices now however it is one of my colleagues who is doing the testing. As far as I know you need Supervision with SNMP license (when you install applications there is a separate option for snmp for the supervision application). Without this license I don't think it is possible.

Hi, Okay, but the snmp inculded in the application are not very good because it only send trap but you can not do "get". Instead of receiving trap, I perfer polling each devices...

Once we have the SNMP trapping configured I will need to evaluate it but from where I sit at the moment Nice have provided a tool that does something in a certain manner.

As I understand it from what documentation I have it provides SNMP events for server connection failures, CTI link lost failures, Channel errors and other internal events. The idea behind this is to send these events to a customer supplied SNMP management tool??? It sounds like rather than using these events you want your tool to be able to interrogate Nice to create it's own events?

Personally I believe that using a mixture of the Nice supplied events and other standard server management software to send events relating to available hard drive space and other system resources that Nice do not provide should be sufficient. I cannot say without first evaluating the Nice traps whether or not they are adequate or not very good as you have indicated.

Is anyone else currently using the Nice SNMP functionality? If so are my thoughts correct and do you feel that the Nice SNMP traps are adequate?

Hi, The NICE SNMP MANAGER 8.9 with sp 4 works fine for logger, and storage, but unfortunatelly, CLS doesn't have snmp agent like loggers and SC. It will come with version 9.0...until then the way to monitor CLS is bad, because you have to run the NICE SNMP CONSOLE for loggers and SC and another supervision station for the CLS...If some body already have CLS 9.0 please let me know if there is snmp agent included on the CD.

Nice does have an agent that directly integrates with SNMP Manager. It is another CA Product that does OS&SQL monitoring and it can be polled. It's for standard os monitoring such as HD space, memory, SQL jobs failing, and other non-nice traps. The SNMP Manager can be configured to monitor it and can directly connect and poll the software. It can run on all the nice boxes. However, It can get very annoying (especially when the SNMP Mgr is sending traps to email) because it sends a ton of data.
