When I start Sniffer 4.5 Pro IT tells me I have to select a network card, so I click on add, but NONE of my networkcards show up in that list [the whole list is empty]
According to the manual of my 1 NIC it has NDSI, NDIS3, NDIS4 and NDIS5 drivers, so that shouldnt be the problem I guess.

Why O Why wont they show up¿

Make sure that the sniffer driver is bound to the nic card. If it is not then follow the instructions below. When I have seen this before I had to uninstall sniffer. Delete the regristry settings by going to regedt32 and changing the permissions for the subkey network associates inc, under Hkey_local_machine. You do not need to delete the network associates subkey with the mecury entry. Once you have done these things then reboot and reinstall. On occasion I had to search the registry and delete all instances of my nic card driver, but this is rare.

I have solved it by installing all versions of Sniffer Pro [I installed 2.5 before, but it didnt support win2K] and reboot after every install, then install 4.5 and reboot again.

tnx for the help

Now the next problem: When I exit Sniffer, my connection breaks down. I have to reboot to get my connection back :(
This happens on both my NIC'S...

How can this be solved¿

Probably not.

From what I read you are using the same card for connection and to sniff with?
get a supported nai card with nai driver and disable tcp/ip in it and only enable the sniffer driver for the card...

Hi LAN Guru,

I wonder if you could share your experience with me on this. I try UNINSTALLING Sniffer Pro 4.5 in Win2k and a error msg came out "uninst.isu" corrupted.

Why I need to uninstall is Sniffer Pro 4.5 doesn't allow me to select a NIC card (only option I have is "local").

Thanks LAN GURU!

Regards,
TCM.
