My desk top is located about 90 feet from the server / switch room. I can tunnell a cable connection to that location. I want to know if I can place a server in the server room and install Sniffer Pro.

Connect to the server using MS Termernal services to sniff
the switches / or servers. I would move the cable to any switch or server connection that I want to sniff. Does this
sound like it can work? Any suggestions?

Hi,

I run Sniffer Pro LAN 4.5 and Reporter 4 on a W2K server in Chicago and access it via Terminal server in Australia, so yes it does work. Only thing to remember is that a normal NIC wont pass on ethernet errors, but if all you are doing in benchmarking or troubleshooting then it wont be a problem.
