Hi folks,

we'd like to create a user who's not in the system group, but who has to be able to run certain sna commands (start, stop, show status via snadisp, snaadmin, smitsnaadmin, and so on)...

Is there any way around giving him system group?

Thanks in advance !

Regards
Thomas

Not knowing what those apps are, off the top of my head, I'd recommend sudo. You might have to set it up to go root, then go to another userid that *is* a member of system, but it should do the job.

There's a thread about this stuff, concerning printing, from a few days ago. Has some detail and might give some ideas, but Chapter11 is right. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation
